A FEW RULES TO HELP US ALL OUT
1. All of us should not share our Google Meet class link with anyone
2. One child per terminal
3. Parents are welcome to attend the trial session to make sure the course meets their needs. Parents should not appear on screen, for all ages, during the trial session.
4. Parents should supervise from a comfortable distance until they feel their child can participate safely and respectfully.
5. Each child is required to use their real-life name on Google Meet. Use How to change your name on Google Meet.
6. Each child's face should appear during the entire session. Be sure to turn your Google Meet video "on."

1. How to mute/unmute audio on Google Meet
2. Know how to pause video
3. Know how to draw on screen using annotate button
4. Show up 5 minutes early to class!

3.0 Speakstories retains the right to terminate user accounts, even paid for accounts, for any reason that it deems necessary.
3.1 All user accounts on Speakstories are required to represent real people, real names, real profiles, and real profile pictures. Accounts may be subject to termination if otherwise.
Protection of Speakstories’s Learning Materials:
4.0 All content, audio, and video on Speakstories are registered with the Copyright Office of the United States of America. All rights reserved. Violators will be prosecuted according to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Berne Convention, and other applicable statutes.
4.1 Violating the Terms of Use may result in Speakstories seeking all necessary remedies available to it by law including monetary compensation.
4.2 You may print out up to three modules or not more than 20 pages of Speakstories for your own personal use but not for distribution.
4.3 You may direct language learners to go online to Speakstories but you may not use any of the materials on the site as though the content is your own.
4.4 Speakstories is not to be downloaded/uploaded, “imported” via editors (such as FrontPage) or snaggers, mirrored, burned, framed, or otherwise installed electronically on any server.
4.5 You may not modify the materials of Speakstories in any way or reproduce or publicly display, perform, or distribute or otherwise use them for any public or commercial purpose. Any use of these materials on any other website or networked computer environment for any purpose is prohibited.
4.6 Speakstories may not be incorporated into any other product. In particular, you may not sell the content of Speakstories or in any other manner lay claim to the name or content of “Speakstories."
Purchases by school libraries, public libraries, and university libraries:
Should a school library, public library, or university library subscribe to Speakstories (as a flat-fee reference resource):
5.0 Remote and on campus access via secure proxy is allowed for faculty, students, and staff of the institution. Therefore, students may have access to the web based materials from their on campus dorms.
5.1 Intra-library loan is allowed "within" a single institution. Therefore, only one library or institution within the school or university need subscribe for a low nominal fee.
5.2 Students may print out no more than three lectures, or not more than 20 pages, from Speakstories for personal use but not for distribution.
Offering your services as an instructor of Arabic:
6.0 No user/instructor is to use the Speakstories platform to offer, directly, his or her teaching services. Instructors are by invitation only. Language instructors are not permitted to endorse themselves on the platform. Meanwhile, instructors are advised to build relationships and help students. Students tend to request lessons from the more active instructors and members on the platform.

8.0 Speakstories may recommend language instructors but is in no way responsible for the quality of the lessons (unless Speakstories is paid directly for the lesson). Should a student not be satisfied by an instructor Speakstories is not responsible for refunds but student will be submitting Feedback to both Speakstories and instructor.
8.1 Speakstories's producers, writers, course designers, as well as any other individuals or affiliates are not liable regarding your course progress, grades, degree fulfillment, or employability. The information presented on Speakstories is as is and your use of content, video, and audio require that you accept liability for their use.
8.2 Speakstories my contain hyperlinks to other sites and it is not responsible for nor does it endorse the contents or use of these sites.
8.3 Any content and/or pictures submitted to Speakstories by you (for example in the forums, picture galleries, sent to us by email, or user comments) are deemed non-confidential. By submitting content and/or pictures you agree that Speakstories may publish such materials without any form of liability. Speakstories may also remove any such postings at its own discretion.
