We Learn With Wrongs, Not Just Rights
Share
At Speak Stories, we don’t wait for perfect answers—we celebrate brave guesses. Mistakes aren’t just accepted here—they’re expected. Because every wrong turn is a chance to learn something new.
Our learners speak early and often. They guess, they try, they get it wrong, and they grow. That’s how we build fluency—not through silence, but through bold participation.
Here’s how we make guessing part of the journey:
- We say “Just guess!”—and we mean it. Teachers prompt learners to take a shot, even if they’re unsure. “Is Lulu afraid or not afraid?” “Is Minmin in front or behind the table?” Learners choose, speak, and sometimes invent. That moment of risk is where learning begins.
- We offer choices—and freedom. Sometimes learners pick between two options. Other times, they’re encouraged to finish a word, describe a scene, or imagine what happens next. Guessing becomes storytelling, and storytelling becomes language practice.
- We turn mistakes into momentum. When a learner guesses wrong, we don’t stop—we build on it. We show the correct answer, repeat it together, and move forward. That correction sticks because it’s tied to effort and emotion.
- We make guessing fun. Whether it’s dragging a prop, circling a clue, or acting out a verb, learners are constantly interacting. They’re not memorizing—they’re experimenting.
At Speak Stories, we believe that guessing is a skill. It teaches learners to observe, predict, and express. It builds resilience and joy. And it turns every moment into a chance to grow.
So come guess with us. We’ll cheer for every “almost,” every “oops,” and every “aha.”
